ABOUT ANJELIQUE
“A powerful performer in voice and interpretation- one couldn’t take her eyes off of her.”
Anjelique Croteau is a twenty-two-year-old mezzo-soprano from Barrie, Ontario. This past year she has enjoyed the role of Mistress Quickly in Verdi's Falstaff At Western University, and previously, of Diana in Dean Burry’s Pandora’s Locker with Can of Soup in London, Ontario, as well as Valetto in Opera Nuova’s production of Monteverdi’s L'Incoronazione di Poppea. She fills her time apart from her studies as a choral scholar at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, Ontario, as a wedding/funeral singer, and writer. She also enjoys part-time modelling and has been featured by photographers in Ontario and magazines supporting body inclusivity and mental health awareness. Storytelling is one of her greatest passions whether it be under the heat of the lights or ink of a pen, Anjelique truly enjoys sinking her teeth into each character’s story splayed before her. Anjelique’s love of music, poetry, and languages combined lead her to find opera.

Anjelique has competed provincially with much success for not only classical voice, but for music theater, speech drama, and public speaking. Her achievements include being a Rose Bowl Finalist for the Barrie Music Festival, a six-time provincial finalist for the OMFA Music Theater, Classical Voice, and Speech Drama categories, as well as a five-time winning title for both French and English public speaking for the SMCDSB. Anjelique greatly values her education and is proud to be a Dean’s List Student for four years running and is currently amidst her final year of her undergraduate studies at the University of Western Ontario.

Her time apart from music is spent reading, writing, at the gym, or with her best friend/pet dog, Clary. She is passionate about the healing capabilities of the arts and hopes that in her performances she can help at least one audience member to feel something special. She asks that you follow with an open heart the journey that music takes all of us on.
